Story
Makita Takahiro works for the public relations department of Nagahara Seiyaku, a large pharmaceutical company. On his way to work one day, he sees a person commit suicide by jumping off a train station platform. Several days later, Makita is summoned by Deputy CEO Anjo Takao and told that there is a likelihood that the suicide is related to the company’s drug. He is tasked with sounding out the police. If the drug played a part and merger talks with foreign investment is broken off, it will be a fatal blow to Nagahara Seiyaku which is struggling with poor business performance. Makita cannot tell his fiancee Morita Mayumi, who is Anjo’s secretary, about his top secret mission. Then he learns that the autopsy report contains the drug substance in question. While the company has an obligation to report this to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Anjo orders Makita to settle with the family of victim and cover up the harmful side effects of the drug. Caught between the company and victim, Makita is in a quandary. He tries to seek the help of the legal adviser Takafuji Tatsumi whom Ando is attempting to eliminate. Will he end up dirtying his own hands for the benefit of the company?

Kobayashi Kaoru as Anjo Takao
The deputy CEO of Nagahara Seiyaku. He has won the rat race in the family-managed company by climbing to the position of deputy CEO and developing the company. He does not care about his family and prioritises Nagahara Seiyaku’s prosperity and survival.
Nakamura Atsuo as Nagahara Koki
The previous company president of Nagahara Seiyaku, he grew it into a leading Japanese company. He favours Anjo Takao. The survival and reputation of Nagahara Seiyaku which has been handed down for generations are important. He has now returned to live in Hatai City where the company was founded.
Ozora Yuhi as Miyamoto Kaori
A mysterious woman. She shadows Makita Takahiro in order to investigate Nagahara Seiyaku.
