Story
31 years ago, detective Kyogoku Kosuke of Yokohama Chuo Police Precinct got caught up in an explosion during an investigation and landed in a coma. After being comatose for 30 years, he suddenly woke up. It has been a year since Kyogoku and the young detective Mochizuki Ryota drove the violent criminal called Kagura as well as the organisation Kyogoku was pursuing 30 years ago to destruction and closed this chapter from the past. Kyogoku and Ryota are still living together in the same place. In this one year, Kyogoku and Ryota have led the police in solving numerous heinous crimes. Ryota has also undergone an unbelievable transformation from a year ago. The investigation methods of the two of them occasionally create trouble. But because their arrest rate and contributions are the highest in the Kanagawa area right now, their maverick, overbearing behaviour is tolerated. They are the “stadium jumper and skinny macho” pair of the Yokohama Chuo district. Meanwhile a robbery occurs at a bank in the jurisdiction of Yokohama Chuo Police Precinct. Kanagawa Prefectural Police’s counsellor Matsuura Satoshi leads a special assault team and takes command of the operation to put down the robbers. However, Kyogoku and Ryota leave Matsuura’s command and slip into the bank. Although the operation is a success in spite of the confusion, Matsuura is livid that Kyogoku and Ryota messed with it. He tells the head of the prefectural police, Jinno Haruhiko, to punish them. In the 30 years that Kyogoku was comatose, his wife Kanako remarried his junior Suzuki Makoto. Kyogoku and Kanako’s daughter Yui adores both Kyogoku and Suzuki as her fathers. Despite the awkward relationship between Kyogoku, Kanako and Suzuki, they frequently have dinner to talk about Yui and Ryota. Yui has become a police officer because of the influence of her two fathers. One day, she checks on a car that has been illegally parked and a fierce-looking man picks a fight with her. A worried Kyogoku who had been keeping an eye on his daughter, holds down the man. He turns out to be Kyogoku’s old friend Sagara Kotetsu. The two men are delighted to be reunited after a long time. Kyogoku and Sagara walk the streets at night as they share their memories. Then countless drones come flying by and drop small bombs. The bombs cause a series of explosions and panic erupts. The bomber who used the drones warns of further explosions. The Kanagawa Prefectural Police and Yokohama Chuo Police Precinct set up a joint investigation task force. Kyogoku and Ryota both try to attend the investigation meeting in high spirits but … …
