Synopsis: Cpywriter Sugiyama Toshifumi (Sawamura Ikki) works for Universal Advertising, a small advertising company that is on the brink of bankruptcy. He used to be in a major advertising agency and won numerous advertising awards. But his wife Sachiko (Hirosue Ryoko) took their young daughter and left because he did not care about the family. Eight years have passed since their divorce. Sugiyama has lost both his passion and ambition and has become a typical weary middle-aged man. One day, his company president, Ishii (Kosakai Kazuki), gets work but his reaction is oddly lacklustre. Sugiyama tells Ishii that they are in no position to choose the work that they like when the company is about to go bankrupt. That is when Sugiyama’s daughter Sanae (Suzuki Rio), who is now an elementary school student, suddenly comes to visit. Sanae says she is here to see her father’s company and has brought a present with her. After greeting his colleagues (Emoto Tokio, Usuda Asami) like a grown-up, she announces that she will be staying with her father for a while. She wonders if there is something at home even though he always goes back after working overnight. The next day, Sugiyama and Ishii go to meet the client. It turns out to be the office of an organised crime group. Sugiyama tells Ishii that they should decline the work but Ishii confesses that they cannot because he has already used up the fees which was pre-paid. The gang leader Kobato Genroku (Ibu Masato) intimidatingly orders them to carry out the work they have accepted as if their life depends on it. There is no compromise. They are asked by the Kobato-gumi to think of a strategy to positively transform the image of organised crime groups. It is an outrageous thing. A gang member Kawata Kaoru (Sugimoto Tetta) is stationed at Universal Advertising as a guard to make sure Sugiyama and the others do not run away. Despite his reluctance to accept the work, Sugiyama happens to regain his long-forgotten passion for advertising. He creates work that he is proud of and triumphantly presents them but … …
