Synopsis: Assistant Inspector Natsuhara Shinji (Takizawa Hideaki) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police’s First Investigative Division is an outstanding detective. A compassionate, affable person well-liked by his colleagues and juniors, he has a stronger sense of justice than anybody else and is proud of his work. His parents died early and he lives with his younger sister who is his emotional support and also his weakest point. Three years ago, Natsuhara lost his fiancee in a random attack. The murderer has not been caught yet and this casts a dark cloud over him. Natsuhara has been chasing the criminal in a dismemberment case in which only the victim’s wrists have still not been found. A male suspect emerges from a check into the murder weapon’s purchase and Natsuhara lies in wait for him. The man shows up, but when Natsuhara is about to arrest him, a woman unexpectedly passes by. She bumps into him and the ice cream that she had been eating gets her clothes dirty. The woman kicks up a fuss. She interrupts everything and the First Investigative Division’s pursuit is thwarted. In addition, Natsuhara is caught off guard by the man who has suddenly appeared from behind. He is hit and falls over. However, the man’s charges are withdrawn on the sudden orders of the top brass. Learning that this is the directive of the Public Security Department, Natsuhara puts up strong opposition. However, he is told by his boss about his transfer to the Public Security Department’s General Affairs Division out of the blue. Natsuhara is shocked by the unusual circumstances. Then, a package addressed to Natsuhara is delivered by courier. There is a cleaning company uniform and a note inside. When he goes to a place, the man who had hit him and hindered his investigation the other day is there. He is Assistant Inspector Serata Soma (Ozawa Yukiyoshi) of the Public Security Department, a man entrusted with highly-confidential missions. A closer look reveals other members that were also involved at that time. At the Public Security Department, Natsuhara is exhausted by the inhuman investigation methods, chafes at the dry relationship between his colleagues and gets deeply troubled. In an about-turn, he tackles a case together with them. This case which appears to be a fight against terror, is the vendetta of a miserable person forsaken by the country. Furthermore, there is the true identity of Serata, the man of many mysteries, and the truth of Natsuhara’s past tragedy. Along with the resolution of the case, the gears of destiny begin to turn at bewildering speed … …
