Synopsis: Pediatric surgeon Saijo Mikoto (Saito Takumi) gives junior high school student Hagio Moe (Momoka), who is having breathing difficulties, emergency medical treatment. But he realises that hypertension associated with pregnancy is the cause and rushes her to the nearest hospital, Seiryo Hospital. This is the hospital where Tezuka Yoshitomu (Kusakari Masao), the head of the Pediatric Department works. Tezuka used to be a neurosurgeon but switched to pediatric surgery in the United States. He was a mentor to Saijo during his time there and made a name for himself in the across the country. But three years ago, he returned to Japan to join Seiryo Hospital which had established a Pediatric Department. After the surgery, Saijo is invited by Tezuka to work at the hospital and Saijo agrees on condition that he is put in charge of Moe. The father of the child that 14-year-old Moe is carrying is not known and her mother Ichiro (Otsuka Nene), who is the principal of a prestigious, private junior high school, questions her fiercely. Moe resents her mother for being strict with her from a young age and boasts that she will be able to escape from her mother with childbirth. Moreover, she learns that her mother intends to foster out her baby. Meanwhile, Saijo meets Tezuka’s only daughter Rika (Shida Mirai) who is visually impaired. Rika is studying at a university in the United States and researching aids for persons with disabilities but has come to Japan because she is concerned about some change in her father.
