Synopsis: Reporter Asami Mitsuhiko (Hiraoka Yuta) visits Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture to do a story on the legend associated with the Emperor Go-Toba who reigned in the 12th century. Onomichi is the place where his younger sister Yuko (Akizuki Mika) was tragically killed in a fire while on a graduation trip 12 years ago. Mitsuhiko happens to see Yuko’s friend Shoboji Miyako (Kori Yuka) again while remembering his younger sister. Miyako leaves the place with a brusque attitude. Her body is later found at the Gotobain imperial tomb. Mitsuhiko meets detective Nogami Tetsuo (Sato Bsaku) who is pursuing Miyako’s case, and his daughter Fumika (Moriwaki Eriko). He hears from Nogami that a green cloth covered book which Miyako seemed to treasure is missing from her personal belongings and questions its disappearance. Moreover, he learns that Miyako had lost her memories of that graduation trip with Yuko and followed the opposite course at that time. Having a terrible feeling about the case, Mitsuhiko traces Miyako’s journey together with Fumika. Meanwhile, Nogami also begins a follow-up investigation under the instructions of Kiriyama Michio (Kikawada Masaya) from the prefectural police. He learns about the death of Mitsuhiko’s younger sister in the fire 12 years ago and feels sympathy for him. Mitsuhiko and Fumika determine that Miyako made the rounds of second-hand bookshops on her trip and bought a book. That was the green cloth covered book which went missing from her personal belongings. Suspecting that the book is connected to the case, Mitsuhiko and Nogami visit high school teacher Ikeda Kenzo (Mizusawa Shingo) who sold the book to the second-hand bookshop. It is revealed that Ikeda had a phone call from Miyako on the day of her death. Recalling that Yuko once had that book, Mitsuhiko suspects a connection between the two cases, but … …
