Synopsis: Novelist Asahina Kosaku (Koizumi Kotaro) receives an offer to turn his book “The Tragedy of Kijinaki Island” into a TV drama, and visits the TV station with his editor Takabayashi Chisato (Minamisawa Nao). At the TV station, they meet his acquaintance, the detective Nakazawa Yoshinobu (Anan Kenji), by coincidence. Nakazawa is pursuing a case about an actor who was killed with poison during the filming of a drama and hands Kosaku a notebook on which the words “Torinakimura Kenbunroku” are written. The notebook which was in the victim’s possession, was written by Kosaku’s father Konosuke (Satoi Kenta) who passed away 20 years ago. Konosuke was an academic who studied folklore. Kosaku is drawn to the eerie coincidence that his drama will be shot on location in Torinakimura Island. When he asks his father’s old friend Oguruma Yasuyuki (Satomi Kotaro), who is a psychologist, about Torinakimura, Oguruma seems to have difficulty telling him that it was the village Konosuke feared the most. To determine what his father was afraid of, Kosaku visits Torinakimura with drama producer Kakinuma Shoji (David Ito), scriptwriter Kubota Rokuro (Sakata Masanobu), lead actor Yuki Tsubasa (Katono Taiko) and Yuki’s manager Torigami Shoko (Hinagata Akiko) who is from Torinakimura, for a preliminary inspection of the filming location but … …
