Story
Shirase Mari’s temporary return to Japan for a concert stirs Endo Natsumi’s memories of the past. 16 years ago, the two of them had been violinists in the Tokyo National Symphony Orchestra and competed to be the soloist. They were good friends who pursued their dreams together, and yet have not met since that day. Natsumi gave up the violin because of her pregnancy and retired from the orchestra with her husband Kazuto who was a cellist in the same orchestra. As a result, Mari won the position of soloist. 17 years later, Natsumi lives with Kazuto and their daughter Reina. Although she is happy now, she is shaken by memories of the day she lost her friend. The two of them meet again by coincidence and return to being good friends. However, they are envious of each other’s circumstances. Mari’s feelings for Natsumi’s husband are rekindled while Natsumi is envious of Mari’s success and glory as the Chicago Orchestra’s concert master. Hada Michiko as Shirase Mari
A former violinist. She has returned from being the Chicago Orchestra’s concert master to the Tokyo National Symphony Orchestra. She meets the Endos again. It is a happy yet miserably painful reunion and her feelings for Kazuto are heightened.
Itaya Yuka as Endo Natsumi
A former violinist. Because Shirase Mari helped her in the music college’s entrance exam, they became good friends. Both of them fought to be the soloist in the same orchestra, but she retired after she got pregnant. She has built a happy family as a wife and mother. In spite of this, a reunion with Mari who has succeeded in the world of music makes her feel envious.
Tanihara Shosuke as Endo Kazuto
Endo Natsumi’s husband. He was also a cellist in the same orchestra but retired with Natsumi and now works at a travel company. He loves his wife and daughter Reina, but meeting Shirase Mari again rekindles his longing for her and the world of music.
Kadowaki Mugi as Endo Reina
The 16-year-old daughter of Endo Natsumi and Kazuto. Because her mother is wary of setbacks, Reina attends a regular high school while continuing to learn the violin, but her talent is discovered by Shirase Mari, who is her idol.
Tanaka Kei as Kusaka Ryoko
The stage manager of the Tokyo National Symphony Orchestra. He works behind the scenes. He remembers the music Endo Natsumi played 16 years ago, and takes pride in being Shirase Mari’s manager?
