Story
While a politician delivers a speech at a shopping street bustling with shoppers, a man armed with a kitchen knife suddenly launches into an attack on passersby. Murata Masako yells at him to stop and attempts to go against the tide of people running about trying to escape. This is when a shabby-looking woman wearing a hood appears out of nowhere to slash the man’s arm. Blood spurts. “If you want to kill, kill me,” the woman tells the man who attacks again. She is about to mercilessly deliver the final fatal blow, but is stopped by Masako and takes her leave. After that, Masako finds her passed out by the side of the road and brings her home. Noticing the big scar on the woman’s back, Masako decides to take care of her for a while. The woman’s name is Sana. One day, Masako goes to Matsuda Ryuji’s traditional martial arts class with Sana. She hears from the effeminate, cross-dressing bar proprietor Tojo Mitsuko about an incident that occurred at the nearby temple. A woman called Mayumi has taken refuge at the temple to escape her abusive husband Naoki. However, he locates her and after that, his actions escalate into stalking. He even tries to kill Mayumi but she is saved by Yamaki Tatsu, a bento deliveryman, who happened to pass by. Unable to forgive Mayumi’s husband, Masako makes a pact with Sana and orders “divine punishment”. Sana, who has only lived by the order of her master and would not even baulk at killing people if ordered to for the sake of food until now, decides that Masako will be her master. She obeys her orders to solve cases where police intervention is difficult and starts to eradicate the evil rampant in the modern era.
