Synopsis: The Akaza family runs a building contractor’s office in Tokyo’s traditional working class neighbourhood. Older brother Inosuke (Oizumi Yo) works as a carpenter under their father (Sasano Takashi) who is a master carpenter, while his sister Momoko (Miyazaki Aoi) drives a large truck. It is always lively at home with the two of them. One day, Momoko reveals to the family that she has miscarried the child she was expecting with her boyfriend. Inosuke is livid at Momoko who has never talked about this guy, especially since he doted on her the most. He ends up hitting Momoko who feels like running away. Momoko finds her brother’s excessive love misplaced and pushes back. She bites his arm and their argument soon turns into a tumultuous uproar. The next day, Momoko leaves home. Six months later, their father’s 70th birthday celebrations is held at home. Planned by Inosuke, it is ostensibly celebrations for their father but seems to actually be an excuse to make Momoko come home. Momoko is told by younger sister Sachi (Takimoto Miori) and reluctantly decides to come back home. The Akazas gather for the first time in half a year. While they are waiting expectantly for Momoko’s return, Obata Yuki (Taiga), who had been her boyfriend, comes to visit all of a sudden … …
