Synopsis: Newspaper journalist Kayama Satoshi (Tsumabuki Satoshi) and his wife Mitsue (Inoue Mao) live in a suburban town with their 2-year-old son Shota. One day, Mitsue is walking with Shota in a stroller when a tree by the roadside topples over. It directly hits the stroller and kills the boy. The Kayamas are devastated by the loss of their beloved son. In his attempt to find out the truth behind Shota’s death, Kayama comes into contact with a string of people who perpetrate “small crimes”. It is the lack of morals in these people with mundane lives, that accumulated and caused this accident. However, they do not acknowledge that what they have done constitutes “murder”. On the contrary, they are visibly outraged at being censured and turn the blame on Kayama. The law is unable to try this case even if Kayama looks into who is responsible. Kayama and Mitsue are forced to direct their grief and anger over the loss of their son towards themselves … …
