Synopsis: On New Year’s Eve, Inogashira Goro (Matsushige Yutaka) shows up somewhere in Tokyo. He remembers spending his last New Year’s Eve at Narita-san and is overcome with emotion. Then Maeda (Ito Shiro), whom he is doing business with, arrives and he begins his last job for the year. Looking back, it has been a busy year end. Just the day before, Goro was in Kyoto for a business trip and had the urge to eat unagi. However, he could not find a good place for unagi. After talking business with Suzukawa Eriko (Tsuruta Mayu), who is the manager of a gallery, he searched for an unagi shop again. But he did not find any and lost his way in a residential neighbourhood. He happened to pass by a shop and decided to order fish cooked with rice in an earthenware pot which goes by a special name in Kyoto. Then he proceeded to put together a menu to enjoy the night. The next day, Goro was in Nagoya where he ate red bean toast, a local specialty for breakfast at a coffee shop. After that, he was recommended a local meal of Taiwanese ramen by a business associate Okumura but his heart leaned toward hitsumabushi-style unagi.
