Synopsis: Sugiura Daiki (Nakamura Aoi), a jobless university graduate, has difficulty getting an official job offer despite more than 100 job interviews and feels inferior to his good friend Funaki Kanta (Nakao Akiyoshi) who works at a top trading firm. His mother Chizuru (Fujita Tomoko) runs a flower shop by herself and hope he will get a job at a big company and not be put through the same hardships. One day, his grandmother Tsubouchi Toyo (Watanabe Misako) comes to live with them. The handicraft shop she had established with her late husband has gone bankrupt and the house has been seized. She has nowhere to go to. Then, when Chizuru is hospitalised because of a strained back, Toyo starts to help at the flower shop on her own accord. By nature a businesswoman, she works with vigour and enthusiasm. Around that time, she mistakenly takes on a flower decoration assignment for a wedding reception. Despite Daiki’s attempt to turn it down, Toyo is overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the bride, Suo Karen (Yoshida Keiko). She gets Daiki involved and works on fulfilling her wish. In order to obtain the Casablanca lilies of a famous farmer, they participate in a fresh flower auction and not only learn that the flowers do not appear in these auctions but also succeed in buying them up with the help of a florist Enomoto Hiroshi (Ukaji Takashi). The night before the wedding reception, Daiki receives a phone call informing him that Kanta had attempted suicide. Heading to the hospital with a distraught Daiki, Toyo gives a pep talk to the two young men who have lost hope. She personally had many insecurities when the handicraft shop was on the decline. All she could do at that moment was to work hard. When Daiki and Toyo return to the flower shop after that, they are shocked. There is a power outage because of a short circuit and the Casablanca lilies which they were going to use at the reception have wilted. Wanting to fulfil Karen’s wish, Toyo begins to create artificial flowers that look like fresh ones with her special skills of old. Seeing Toyo’s tenacity, Daiki also starts to understand her indefatigable spirit and zest for life before he realises it. And then at the wedding reception … …
