Story
Iga Kan has been working at a French restaurant. He is serious and inflexible. Because he cannot even smile for the sake of customer service, both his colleagues and customers have a low opinion of him. However, a mysterious woman named Kurosu Kanako, who has a high regard for him, shows up. She scouts Iga for the French restaurant that she is going to open soon. “My staff need to have originality. You’ll certainly be a great waiter,” she tells him. Iga is moved by her words and decides to work at her restaurant. But this restaurant is located in a cemetery far from train stations, shopping districts and even residential areas. Furthermore, the employees that Kanako has assembled are all novices – the simple-minded Kawai Taichi, a former trainee hairdresser; Tsutsumi Keitaro, a manager of a beef bowl shop for five years; Yamagata Shigeomi, a retired banker who is a qualified sommelier – with no prior experience at a French restaurant with the exception of the talented but unfortunate chef Ozawa Yukio, who worked at restaurants that all subsequently closed down. Why has Kanako brought them together and will the restaurant be able to open without incident?

Characters
Ishihara Satomi as Kurosu Kanako
The eccentric owner of Loin d’ici. She is both emotionally and physically strong. She never hesitates and is always positive. While she may come across as a selfish person who has no consideration for others, she does not hide anything and just gets to the heart of the matter. She often acts on what comes to mind and twists people around. But this ultimately produces good results in the end. She appears to speak appropriately. However, flashes of her words really touch the hearts of the employees because they are her true feelings.

Fukushi Sota as Iga Kan
A senior waiter at Loin d’ici. He is a serious young man who cannot even smile for the sake of customer service. As a result, he had a low standing at the previous restaurant where he worked. However, he was highly regarded by Kurosu Kanako who came as a customer, and she scouted him. Although he constantly endures hardships such as redirecting the individualist employees of the restaurant when they run wild, he feels comforted to be needed by everyone. He is terrible at anything close to an exam and because of the trauma from the university entrance exam.

Shison Jun as Kawai Taichi
An assistant waiter at Loin d’ici. A former trainee hairdresser who decided to change jobs because he was sick of shampooing hair, he has no experience working in a restaurant. Although he is cheerful and always smiles, he does not have good memory and is not particularly competent. However, he is somehow impossible to hate. He is fashionable and attuned to social media. He becomes attached to Iga Kan.

Katsumura Masanobu as Tsutsumi Keitaro
The restaurant manager of Loin d’ici. However, he has no experience in French cuisine as he worked at a beef bowl shop in his previous job. He gets swayed by the outrageous Kurosu Kanako’s restaurant policy and struggles with the restaurant’s operations. Because he is cowardly and anything but a restaurant manager, he panics and has to turn to Iga Kan for help whenever any trouble occurs. He runs the restaurant to the best of his ability with small-scale savings and ordinary planning ability. The beef bowl serves as the benchmark for converting things. He is very unpretentious.

Danta Yasunori as Ozawa Yukio
The chef of Loin d’ici. A genius with a wealth of experience and skills, he has even worked at a three-star Michelin restaurant but all the restaurants that he was employed at somehow went out of business. He was scouted by Kurosu Kanako who said she wanted to eat delicious food to her heart’s content, after he won her favour. However, he has a secret that he cannot tell anyone. He is a worrier and when he gets discouraged, his food has little taste. But he is respected by his apprentices, Tsukikawa Yohei and Takato Daichi.

Kishibe Ittoku as Yamagata Shigeomi
The sommelier of Loin d’ici. A retired banker. Although he has no experience in French cuisine, he works at the restaurant to get qualified as a sommelier because he is into qualifications. He is a crafty and mischievous character who often uses the fact that he is an elderly man to wheedle people and have an easy life. He initially earns the respect of Kurosu Kanako as a person able to express dissent. However, Iga Kan gradually replaces that position.

Tachi Hiroshi as Mysterious gentleman
A mysterious gentleman who seems to hold the key to the story. But what is his true identity?
