Synopsis: Back in the Sengoku Period 400 years ago, the villagers of Yatsuhaka brutally killed eight samurai they helped to hide after the samurai fled the battlefield. As one of the samurai died, he placed a curse on the village. Strange things started to happen so the villagers erected eight graves for the murdered samurai to appease their anger. Then during the Taisho Period, Tajimi Yozo (Otoo Takuma) who was the head of the Tajimi family killed 32 villagers. This is the history of Yatsuhaka. Igawa Tatsuya (Murakami Nijiro) had cut off ties with the Tajimi family for a long time. But as the heir of this old and important family, he is called back to the village. Not knowing that Tatsuya is her younger half-brother, both Tajimi Haruyo (Renbutsu Misako) and the widow Mori Miyako (Maki Yoko), who lives with a rich man Nomura Sokichi (Kunimura Jun), come to like him. This is the beginning of a tragedy. Tatsuya’s grandfather, older half-brother Hisaya (Otoo Takuma), a Buddhist priest and a nun are killed one by one. However, the truth is not known. Meanwhile, Tatsuya wanders into a huge limestone cave. This is where he sees the partly wax-like dead body of the head of the Tajimi family who is wearing the armour of the samurai deserters. Then Tatsuya’s older half-sister and the village doctor are also killed. The killer shows no signs of stopping. The great detective Kindaichi Kosuke (Yoshioka Hidetaka) soon finds out the secret of Tatsuya’s birth. But at that moment, Tatsuya is driven deep into the limestone cave by the villagers who fear the curse of the samurai.
