Story
Minase Aoi is a single mother in her 40s with a 20-year-old daughter Sora. She once took the world by storm as the queen of romance novels but her immediate worry is Sora who cannot get a boyfriend. In Aoi’s opinion, the reason is obviously because Sora is hardcore manga fan. She frets that her daughter is too immersed in the 2D world of manga and will never leave the house. Meanwhile, Aoi’s first mystery novel, which was expected to have a sequel, turns out to be a big flop and she is told by the editor in chief one day that the series will be cancelled. As Aoi is feeling depressed, her new editor Tachibana Souseki orders a romance novel for her next project. However, despite her glamorous looks, Aoi has kept a distance from romance and lost confidence in herself. Sora wants to be in love but with the constant stream of new mangas being published, she has to prepare to cosplay at comic conventions. Life as a fan is rather busy. She is more worried about her mother who is girlish and reckless despite her age. Since her mother does not know much about the ways of the world, she feels that she cannot leave her like this. Sora expresses these concerns to Gon-chan, who owns the shop Odaya where she works part-time. He is also Aoi’s childhood friend and watches over mother and daughter, who are more like friends. There is about to be a heart-pounding fateful encounter for Aoi and Sora that will shake the family. Furthermore, Sora flares up at a remark by Irino Hikaru, her schoolmate and the university’s most popular guy, and ends up causing an incident. An exciting love story – a first for the daughter and the first time in a long while for the mother – with many difficulties in store is about to begin.
