Synopsis: Kusumi Shohei (Matsushige Yutaka) heads the Second Violent Crimes Section of Yamanashi Prefectural Police’s First Investigation Division. He is a competent but hard-nosed detective who would do whatever it takes to uphold the law. Kusumi has been pursuing a case of bodily injury that caused the death of Honma Atsushi (Yamazaki Yuta). 20 years ago, the suspect Takeuchi Toshiharu (Mizuhashi Kenji) raped Honma Yukie (Tomosaka Rie) and ended up in a scuffle with her husband Atsushi. Takeuchi fled and the statute of limitation is about to run out soon without any leads. Three years earlier, Takeuchi apologised to Yukie over the phone for the incident and also told her about some matter. The person who holds the key to it is her daughter Arisa (Taira Yuna). With one week to go, the police wait for Takeuchi to show up but Kusumi says meaningfully to his subordinate Mori Takahiro (Yoshizawa Hisashi) that this will not end in seven days. He orders Mori to do a background check that is unrelated to the case in order to apprehend Takeuchi. While Mori finds this questionable, he proceeds to hurl himself into it and gets to the hidden truth of the case which Kusumi had anticipated … …
