Synopsis
Detective Kurasawa Itsuki is a former elementary school teacher whose daughter Honoka was brutally killed by Itsuki’s student Kishi Ruoto who was 12 at the time. Ruoto’s youth along with the bizarre nature of the crime sent shock waves throughout the country. Wanting to spare people from experiencing similar anguish and despair as a bereaved family member, Istuki became a detective. This strong conviction drove her to spend her days working hard to solve cases. Right before her daughter’s death anniversary 12 years later, Itsuki learns that Ruoto has been discharged from the juvenile medical reformatory. Even when she hears that he has been completely reformed, she cannot help feeling skeptical. Several days later, Itsuki receives a suspicious message promising to take something precious from her again. This is the beginning of a new case that will rattle the country yet once more. Seeking clues related to Ruoto, she visits his mother Marie. But Marie reacts in an unexpected way when she meets Itsuki again … …
