Story
Saito Masako is a housewife whose sense of justice means she never misses seeing anything that is wrong or people who do bad things. She moves into a residential neighbourhood called Laketown Taiyo with her son Junichi who is now a fourth grade elementary school student. Yamauchi Maya, a housewife living in Laketown Taiyo, comes across a group of high school students making a racket on the street. One of the boys bumps into her son Takumi. He not only does not apologise but also makes a fuss. There are other adults around them, but everyone looks the other way. Then Saito-san appears and gives the students a dressing down. Maya is shocked that she holds her ground despite their intimidation. Junichi enters Class 4/3 of Taiyo Elementary School. Takumi is also in this class. On this occasion, Maya is told that there is a child who has not come to school because of a nickname given by Takumi. It becomes a problem of possible bullying and an urgent parent meeting for Class 4/3 is convened. At the meeting, a proposal is made to prohibit children from giving nicknames. As the parents are about to agree to the idea, Saito-san is the only person who is unconvinced, and voices her opposition … … In the school, children around the age of 10 who are in the early stage of their rebellious phase and overprotective mothers like Maya and former Parent-Teacher Association President Tamai Mami exercise authority. Saito-san gets on the wrong side of the people around her, but she boldly stands up to the mothers and the current warped classroom situation

Characters
Mizuki Arisa as Saito Masako (Saito-san)
A hot-blooded mother and full-time housewife who has a strong sense of justice and will say no to what is wrong. Her conviction is that “A wrong thing is wrong” for the sake of herself, her child and the future. However, various incidents which occur because of this conviction which she unleashes in the new neighbourhood, makes her gradually consider her way of thinking … … She has only just cme back to Japan from South Africa, and starts a new life with her son Junichi. Her husband Yukihiko is on an overseas assignment.

Kiritani Mirei as Yamauchi Maya
A young mother whom Saito-san meets in the new neighbourhood. She has her son when she was 19. Because she gave birth at a young age, she had to grit her teeth against the gossip of those around her from the start. She is overly sensitive about being treated as a kid by the people around her. She loves her son, and tries not to make waves. In any case, she is in the habit of cheerfully replying “I’m okay” to anything, and always smiles. However, that innocent smile has a hidden meaning. Saito-san’s radical ways make her uncomfortable, but she is soon influenced by her.

Tanabe Seiichi as Yamauchi Hirotaka
Yamauchi Maya’s husband. A salaryman. He is good at his job and kind, but turns into a child when he gets drunk. He met Maya at the company she got a job at after high school graduation. They are happily married. He understands Maya who seems to keep her worries to herself without meaning to, and is gently patient with her. There are words that he casually lets slip which often drive home their husband-wife relationship.

Seto Koji as Kosugi Taizo
The form teacher of Class 4/3. Because he is a young teacher in his third year, he is highly motivated and always goes in circles. Because he is rather weak and indecisive, what should be a perfectly ordinary incident, ends up becoming a big problem by the time he realises it. Although parents tend to make an example of him, the children offer him strong support.

Sakai Wakana as Tachibana Chisako
A fashionable woman who will not make herself plain and shabby for the sake of her child, and always pays attention to fashion. She is also a model for a mothers magazine and has a wide circle of friends. Although she is prominent in Class 4/3, she actually does not realise her daughter’s real feelings. She has a way with Tamai Mami. While she belongs to the mothers’ corps, she will only make conversation so that she will not be isolated.

Minami Kaho as Tamai Mami
Her husband is a successful businessman, but she does not boast about that. She is “righteous” in raising children, and is a strong woman who is able to properly express what she thinks is wrong. However, she is a little strong in her assumptions, and would immediately hold urgent parent meetings and make things big even over a small matter. She does not have ill intent, but she is the boss of this area. She develops her hobby into lectures on flower arrangements for the local culture class. This becomes the gathering spot for the mothers of the neighbourhood.
