Synopsis: Ishigami Yukiko (Yasuda Narumi), who has been in prison for a murder that took place 10 years ago, is finally released on parole. She encounters Osaka Minori (Aibu Saki) at a diner. Minori got paroled on the same day after serving a 5-year sentence for embezzling 2 million yen. Irritated with the overly friendly Minori who follows her around, Yukiko makes a getaway, but meets Minori again at the factory where she is employed. One day, Minori trails Yukiko out of curiosity. They arrive outside a children’s home. Yukiko’s gaze is fixed on a blind junior high school boy who is being bullied. The “murderer’s son”. He is Yukiko’s son, Shun (Imai Yuki). Noticing Yukiko’s hesitation to help, Minori saves Shun on her behalf. Shun thanks Minori and is about to leave when he senses a familiar scent. He murmurs “mother”, but she cannot be alive and he leaves the place. Yukiko wears a look of sorrow on her face. On another day, Yukiko digs out a matryoshka doll caked with darkened blood. It had been buried at the base of a tree on the hill behind the Hanamaki pencil factory. This was the doll that her husband Takanori (Watanabe Ikkei) stole from the company president Hanamaki and instructed her to bury on the day of the incident 10 years ago. Yukiko brings the matryoshka doll back and finds a note with “Kanuma villa” written on it and a key inside. Yukiko starts to search for what this means. Meanwhile, Minori’s ex-boyfriend Ryuji (Takezai Terunosuke), who had triggered her embezzlement, is murdered by someone … …
