Story
In the town of Kawaguchi, at the foot of Mt Fuji, 32-year-old Uno Sawako leads an ordinary but happy life each day. Her husband has run away and she is a plucky single mother to three boys Dai, Hide and Shun. She works at a supermarket, and her grandmother helps with the household chores. One day, a young man on death’s door totters in front of Sawako’s car while she is on the way home from work. She is about to make a fuss when she notices that he is a rather fine young man. Captivated by his beauty, she falls in love with him in a heartbeat. The young man regains consciousness at Sawako’s house, but has lost his memory. Sensing that they were destined to meet, Sawako declares to her boys that she will make this man their father from this day and gets the story straight. Then, she gives the man the name Hoshio since he shows interest in the stars at night, and lets him live together as the father of her three boys. This is the start of a rather odd pseudo family life for Sawako, her sons and grandmother, and Hoshio. Hoshio cannot recall who he is and is bewildered that the boys are his children, but he believes Sawako’s lie, and lives in the Uno house. On the other hand, Sawako feels guilty for lying but cannot tell the truth for fear that he will leave if he learns the reality. One morning, Hoshio leaves the house to deliver something Sawako forgot to bring. He runs with unbelievable speed and catches up with her car in a flash. This sudden superhuman ability catches himself by surprise. At the same moment, a young woman called Michiru appears in the town. She seems to be searching for Hoshio’s whereabouts … …
