Story
Contemporary dancer Taira Kei’s talent emerged at a young age and he went to study in Germany in his teens. Called the “young genius”, he even won an international championship. Despite his abundant talent, Kei did not fulfil his ambition. His dream suffered setbacks. He was rejected by overseas dance companies and wanted to die. Kei has now returned to Tokyo and has been working part-time order to take another shot at his dream. He takes great pride in dancing and will never accept half measures. That is why he earns a living by manual labour. Although he used to be full of ambition, he has been frustrated with himself for seemingly wasting away ever since he returned to Japan … … Nishihara Yui, an older teacher at a prestigious girls high school happens to catch Kei’s sight. Yui has actually been having a doomed affair with her married colleague, Takayanagi Taro, for five years without being noticed. She realised right from the start that this would not be followed by marriage. Now she is clueless about what she wants from this romance. The radiance of her young students also gives her a sense of defeat. However, Kei is drawn to Yui and loses his heart. One day, there is a slight commotion at the school. Kei has been turning up at the front gate every day and the school is rife with speculation about a student’s stalker. He starts to make his approach and his enthusiasm starts to sway Yui. Before long, the two of them fall deeply in love. Their love bears fruit as they overcome numerous hurdles such as their age gap as well as differences in life circumstances and values. However, romance and daily life are different. Their feelings soon waver and causes a change in their relationship.

Kamenashi Kazuya as Taira Kei
His talent in contemporary dance emerged at a young age and he went to study at a German dance company in his teens. Called the “young genius” because of his natural and assured performances, he has even won an international championship. However, he has not fulfilled his ambition. He has now returned to Tokyo and has been working part-time order to take another shot at his dream. He takes great pride in dancing and will never accept a half-hearted job. That is why he earns a living by daily-rated manual labour. He used to be full of ambition. But he has been frustrated with himself for seemingly losing his drive ever since he returned to Japan because he has been too busy supporting himself … … At that moment, he falls in love with Nishihara Yui who passes by the connecting corridor of a prestigious girls high school. He easily overcomes numerous hurdles with his youth and a boldness uncharacteristic for a Japanese, and starts to shake Yui.
Fukada Kyoko as Nishihara Yui
A chemistry teacher at a female high school. She is the deputy form teacher for second year students. Called diligent and hardworking by the people around her, she is fairly beautiful but single. In front of her 17-year-old students with lovely skin, she feels ashamed of her own face which tells the years. She has been living in her family home and is pressed by her mother, Mariko, to get married. But she is actually having an affair with fellow teacher, Takayanagi Taro. She goes through the days feeling an impenetrable hopelessness and became a dry, empty person at some point. She realised right from the start that this would not be followed by marriage. Now she is not sure what she wants from this romance. However, Taira Kei starts to sway her sense of values with his appearance.
Hayami Akari as Noguchi Ayako
Taira Kei’s childhood friend. She practiced ballet in the same dance studio in her childhood.
Terajima Susumu as Tajima Shigeyoshi
Taira Kei’s senior at the place where he works part time. He is concerned about Kei who does not try to get used to his surroundings.
Onuki Yusuke as Ichinose Yuto
A young, up-and-coming contemporary dancer. He belonged to the same German dance company as Taira Kei and was contracted instead of Kei.
Namase Katsuhisa as Takayanagi Taro
A Japanese language teacher at the same female high school as Nishihara Yui. He is married with two kids. He is humourous and very popular with both students and parents. A man who says what must be said, he is also recognised as the “school’s promising star” among the staff. On the other hand, he has been having an affair with Yui for five years.
