Synopsis
Up-and-coming movie director Hasebe Kaori consults rookie scriptwriter Kai Mahiro about a movie script. The script is based on the Sasazukacho family murder that occurred 15 years earlier. A teenage Tateishi Rikito, who was a social recluse, stabbed his younger sister Sara to death at home. Then he set the house on fire which killed their parents as well. The small town of Sasazukacho where this incident took place is also Mahiro’s birthplace. While Mahiro’s mentor, the popular scriptwriter Ohata Rinko, is supportive of her, pursuing this case also means Kaori and Mahiro have to come face to face with their respective pasts. Why does Kaori want to film this case when the ruling is final and how will Mahiro deal with this? As Kaori and Mahiro investigate the case, they come to a shocking truth behind the victim and the incident.
