Synopsis: Detective Itomura Satoshi (Kamikawa Takaya) of Tsukishima Chuo Police Precinct arrives in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture in order to deliver personal effects from a case to the family of the deceased. Hearing the screech of tyres and the sound of gunshot(s), he rushes to the scene and is just in time to see someone kidnap university professor Morisue Keiichiro (Harada Daijiro) and get away in a car. Itomura runs up to Morisue’s car, which has been left unattended, to protect the female university student in the passenger seat. At that moment, a lost item catches his attention. It is a ticket for a reserved seat on an overnight express train which runs between Tokyo and Nagasaki. The date of the seat reservation was 22 years ago. Why was it not used? Right after that, the case develops rapidly. Noriko (Kurokawa Tomoka), a journalist with Chiba Chuo TV, gets a phone call from the kidnapper who tells her that Morisue has been abducted. Video footage of Morisue who is being held captive in a container at 50 deg C is sent to the Chiba Prefectural Police. Furthermore, the criminal demands a ransom of 91.25 million yen, and instructs Okabe Tamotsu (Satoi Kenta), the director of Daiyou & Co to pack the money into an attache case and bring it to the entrance of the Chiba District Court. In addition, Chiba Chuo TV is made to broadcast live coverage of the drop-off. Okabe agrees to go to the designated location with the ransom in order to rescue the hostage. However, the kidnapper contacts Okabe directly on his mobile phone before the pick up. After that, Okabe starts to behave suspiciously and the drop-off ends in failure. On the other hand, Itomura, who is assisting in the investigation as an eyewitness, cannot help being curious about that ticket and heads to a nearby train station where the ticket was issued. He learns that a man holding the same ticket had shown up about two months ago and asks for the address of the station master who issued the ticket at that time. It seems that the man is working at a Tsukiji Japanese food shop within the jurisdiction of Tsukishima Chuo Police Precinct. Mizusawa Kyoko (Saito Yuki) and the other members of Tsukishima Chuo Police Precinct unexpectedly end up helping in the investigation in Itoshima’s attempt to find out the man’s identity, but … … Meanwhile, the investigation task force gets another phone call from the kidnapper. This time, Shimada Atsushi (Masuoka Toru), the head of the Chiba Prefectural Police’s Criminal Investigations Department is appointed to transport the ransom. What is the kidnapper’s objective? And what happened 22 years ago?
